Ensiferum (FI)

Ensiferum (Latin ēnsiferum (neuter adjective) meaning "sword bearer") is a folk metal band from Helsinki, Finland.

In 1995 Markus Toivonen played guitar with some friends in a band called ”Dark Reflections”, which played mainly covers of certain heavy metal bands including Megadeth, Pantera and many others. Later on, Markus felt that the band in which he was playing offered him very little inspiration and wanted to play something different. Markus was hugely inspired by folk music and also found himself fascinated with melodic death metal bands like Amorphis and Dark Tranquillity. Profane Omen (FI)

1999 guitarist/songwriter Janne Tolonen, drummer/songwriter Länä Varjola, bassist Jukka Keisala and guitarist Bönde Pöllänen found PROFANE OMEN. Soon after foundation of the group the singer Jules Näveri joined to band.
The band started out by playing melodic heavy metal and in the beginning year 2000 they hit the studio to make their first demo which goes by the name of “Profane Omen”. The band played their first gig.

In the end of year 2000 the band made their second demo called “Bittersweet Omen” which is also categorized under the genre of melodic heavy metal. Soon after the second demo guitarist Pöllänen decided to call it quits and leave the band. Guitarist/songwriter Williami Kurki joined to the band then.

Amoral (FI)

Amoral was established by Ben Varon, Juhana Karlsson and Silver Ots in 2000 in Helsinki, Finland.
Their first vocalist was Matti Pitkänen, who was quickly replaced by Niko Kalliojärvi. Former band members also include Ville Sorvali from Moonsorrow on bass. For some time before Sorvali joined Amoral, the band was without bass player, and Ots played bass on some of their demos. Amoral released two demos, Desolation and Other Flesh, with varying line-ups, and played some minor gigs before releasing their first full-length album. Amoral signed with Rage of Achilles Records and released their first album, Wound Creations, in 2004.
