After 20 years as main songwriter, frontman and founder of The Backyard Babies it was finally time to let ideas for a solo project become reality.
-Role models as Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Rolling Stones, Guns N´Roses and Social Distortion has inspired me to write music I always longed for to record and perform live.
-My vision is that Homeland will be a living project where genres are mixed depending on the contribution of musicians, guests or friends. Read more on Last.fm . User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
There are at least five bands called "Pain".
1. Sweden’s Pain is an industrial metal band. The band started out as a hobby project for Hypocrisy front man Peter Tägtgren, whose idea was to fuse metal with electronic influences. “MUSIC IS everything to me. I’ve been through two divorces and a whole world of shit because of music but still it is the most important thing in the world to me. I’d rather have music than anything else.”
So speaks 36-year-old Peter Tägtgren, musician, producer and creative brai...
The 69 Eyes originate from Helsinki, Finland. They became a band in the early 1990's and are nowadays labelled as "Gothic Rock" though their early releases were more of a glam/hard rock style.
1989 - 1999
Formed by a group of friends in the bars of Helsinki, Finland in the summer of 1989, a nod to illustrate the band's tight-knit friendship is that the lineup has stayed the same since creation. The band originally played glam metal inspired music, different from their current gothic rock style.
The band released their first 7 inch EP, "Sugarman", in 1990, followed by another 7 inch, "Barbarella" in 1991. These releases paved the way for the bands first album Bump 'n' Grind released in 1992 which containe...
The Swedish death metal band Hypocrisy was formed by Peter Tägtgren in 1990 upon his return to Sweden from Florida, where he had been inspired by that state's flourishing death metal scene (bands like Morbid Angel, Deicide, Death and Obituary).
Hypocrisy's first demo was recorded entirely by Tägtgren himself; once it secured him a record deal, he recruited a lineup of Masse Broberg (Vocals), Jonas Österberg (Guitar), Mikael Hedlund (Bass) and Lars Szöke (Drums), while he himself settled on guitar. This lineup released "Penetralia in 1992, upon which point Österberg left the group. "Obsculum Obscenum" appeared in 1993, and Broberg subsequently departed as well, with Tägtgren assuming vocal duties. Thus reconstituted as a power...
Asphyx is a death metal band from the Netherlands that incorporates doom metal and thrash metal elements into their music.
The band was formed in 1987 by Bob Bagchus and Tonny Brookhuis. Eric Daniels was found as a second guitarist and Chuck Colli joined on vocals and bass; this combo released the "Enter the Domain" demo.
In March 1989 Colli was replaced by Theo Loomans and they recorded the "Crush the Cenotaph" demo. Brookhuis then left the band and the remaining three recorded "Embrace the Death" album which was never released due to label problems.
After Martin van Drunen left Pestilence in the early 1990s, he joined Asphyx and the band signed to Century Media Records. After the release of their debut ...
