a) Strife is a metallic hardcore band from Los Angeles, California. Their first LP, One Truth, was released in 1994 by Victory Records to both critical acclaim and tremendous sales. At the time, their speed-metal style of hardcore was considered revolutionary, and their message of Straight Edge activism and positive life style was a refreshing contrast to the typical music popular at the time. Strife was considered one of the three "Big" bands on the then-new Victory Records label, sharing that title with metalcore legends Earth Crisis and Snapcase. Hailing from Stockholm, This Gift is a Curse play a combination of hardcore and sludge with great influences from both the occult black metal-scene as well as drone soundscapes. Spanning from slow, epic sections to faster, energetic parts, the songs show a great diversity in both musicianship and creativity.
Although the four members originated from different parts of the country, an accidental meeting by Jonas A. Holmberg and Johan Nordlund the late summer of 2008 led to the birth of This Gift is a Curse. 1. Foreseen is a Hardcore/crossover thrash band from Helsinki Finland, formed in 2009. The band has released 7"Ep in 2010 and a 7" split w/ Upright in January 2011. Structural Oppression 7" came out in early 2013. First Foreseen LP "Helsinki Savagery" is coming out in 2014.
