Lena Willemark was born in 1960 in the village of Evertsberg, Sweden, which is situated in the province of Dalecarlia. The heritage of folk music lies deeply enrooted in Lena's music. She plays the violin and has become the best-known interpreter of traditional folk music in Sweden. In the early Eighties while at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm she became involved with jazz singing and the combination of the two music styles has made her one of this country's most unique artists. She has worked with such groups as Frifot, Entell, Elise Einarsdotter Ensemble and the award-winning group Nordan together with Ale Möller. Bengt Hallberg (born 13 September 1932) is one of Sweden's most influential jazz musicians. He studied classical piano from a very early age, and at 13 years old he wrote his first jazz arrangement. In 1949 he recorded with the Swedish alto saxophonist Arne Domnérus for the first time, an association which has continued. In the 1950s Hallberg played with leading visiting American players, including the trumpeter Clifford Brown and the tenor saxophonist Stan Getz and also Quincy Jones.

Georg Riedel (born on 8 January 1934 Karlsbad, Czechoslovakia), is a Swedish double bass player and composer. Riedel migrated to Sweden at the age of four and went to school in Stockholm. He is of Jewish descent.
The most famous recording featuring Riedel is probably Jan Johansson's Jazz på svenska, a minimalist-jazz compilation of folk songs recorded in 1962-1963, though Reidel has recorded with other leading Swedish musicians including trumpeter Jan Allan.
