John Duncan was born in the United States, currently lives and works in Italy. His audio releases THE CRACKLING (1996 with Max Springer), TAP INTERNAL (2000), PALACE of MIND (2001 with Giuliana Stefani), FRESH (2002 with Zeitkratzer), INFRASOUND-TIDAL (2003) and THE KEENING TOWERS (2003) are all considered by critics and composers alike to be benchmarks in the field of experimental sound and contemporary music.

Mats Gustafsson

Mats Gustafsson (born 1964 in Umeå) is a Swedish saxophone player and a stalwart on the Scandinavian free jazz scene.

He first came to the attention of lovers of improvised music as part of a duo with Christian Munthe (started in 1986) and the band Gush (started in 1988). He has later played widely with musicians such as Peter Brötzmann, Joe McPhee, Paul Lovens, Barry Guy and Derek Bailey.

Since the early 1990s, Mats Gustafsson has been a regular visitor to the U.S., forming a particular affinity with Chicago musicians such as Hamid Drake, Michael Zerang and Ken Vandermark and recording for the city's OkkaDisk label.

Rune Lindblad

Rune Lindblad was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1923. He began composing music in 1953. This was a time when composers in Germany and France were feuding over the merits of electronic music made by pure wave oscillators versus musique concrete, which used the tape recorder as its main instrument. Rune Lindblad did not see these genres as mutually exclusive. In fact he extended his work to incorporate other mediums along with his approach to music. Deeply involved with woodcuts and painting, Lindblad was already experimenting with using damaged 16mm film in his 'Optica 1' as early as 1959. Read more on .
