Björns Vänner

Björns vänner is up there among the legends of Swedish pop music sung in Swedish. I can only think of two artists that come near the feelings and emotions that Björns vänner give rise to; Bob Hund and Jakob Hellman. Björns vänner are indeed heroes in their own created universe. It’s the band on Adrian Recordings that has the most fanatic fan base, and even though the band is no more, the crowd still grows. Yes, it is true, Björns vänner gave up after two albums, two EP’s and two singles, the reason was that singer and main songwriter Richard Schicke moved to London. We know what he is doing there; question is if he knows it.

YAST

From Sandviken in the north of Sweden comes lo-fi romantics YAST (Before the name stood for Youth And Student Travel). A bit naive, very loving and with dreamy melodies, Carl, Tobias and Marcus get help from Markus and Niklas, drummer and bass player from post punk act Aerial. Since 2004 they are based in Malmö, near Möllan. YAST will always be influenced by Yo La Tengo,Neil Young and Pavement but find inspiration in a variety of music and things.

Alice Boman

Alice Boman’s voice hits with the emotional force and haunting fragility of Nina Simone. Timeless and direct, the Swedish singer returns with a wistful collection of songs on EP II, set to be released June 3 via Adrian Recordings, forming a CD album together with the stunning debut EP, Skisser.

Hailing from Malmö, Sweden, the singer/songwriter first appeared when she released 2013’s Skisser via Adrian Recordings.
