Lily Allen (UK)

Lily Rose Beatrice Cooper (née Allen; born 2 May 1985), known professionally as Lily Allen, is an English singer/songwriter, haling from London, United Kingdom and actress. She is the daughter of Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. Allen left school when she was 15 and concentrated on improving her performing and compositional skills. She started her musical career in 2002 by signing to London Records. In 2005, she made some of her recordings public on Myspace and the publicity resulted in airplay on BBC Radio 1 and a contract with Regal Recordings.

First Aid Kit

There are three bands called First Aid Kit:

1. Swedish indie/folk duo consisting of sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg from Stockholm. The siblings began composing songs in 2007, taking their name at random from an English dictionary.
The debut EP "Drunken Trees" was released on the 9th of April 2008 in Sweden on the label Rabid Records, owned by the Swedish electronic duo The Knife. The EP was re-released through Wichita Recordings early 2009.
The debut album The Big Black & The Blue was released on January 25th, 2010.
Their 2nd album The Lion's Roar, produced by Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes, was released on January 24th, 2012.

London Grammar (UK)

Singer Hannah Reid and guitarist Dan Rothman met in the dorms of Nottingham University where they began writing music together in 2009. They later added multi-instrumentalist Dot Major to complete the London Grammar line-up.

Their popularity rose with the 2012 release of "Hey Now" which they uploaded to the internet and instantly found an online cult following. Their self-released 2013 debut EP "Metal & Dust" reached the Top 5 of the iTunes chart. The same year they signed to Ministry of Sound and the single "Wasting My Young Years" appeared as the first release on the label. 2013 also saw them play a sold-out show at the Islington Assembly Hall and make an appearance at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

Kelis (US)

Kelis Rogers-Jones (born Kelis Rogers on August 21, 1979), is known simply by her first name Kelis (pronounced Kuh-lees). Her name is an amalgamation of her parents' first names, her black father Kenneth and Chinese-Puerto Rican mother Eveliss. Growing up in Middle Class Harlem, New York Kelis' childhood was not a deprived one. But she was not without problems, after her parents realised they could not cope with her unruly behavior (Kelis shaved all her hair off at age 13, soon afterwards dyeing the regrowth the colors of the rainbow), Kelis moved out of the family home, continuing her private education.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart is an indie pop band which formed in 2007 in New York City, New York, USA. The band consists of Kip Berman (vocals, guitar), who currently performs live with Christoph (guitar) and Anton (drums) Hochheim (formerly of The Depreciation Guild, currently of Ablebody), Jacob Sloan (bass) (Dream Diary), Jessica Weiss (vocals) (Fear of Men), and Jen Goma (vocals) (A Sunny Day in Glasgow).

Past members have included Peggy Wang (vocals, keyboards), Alex Naidus (bass), and Kurt Feldman (drums, programming).
