Poison Idea (US)
-> söndag 24 augusti 2014
Poison Idea was formed in 1980 in Portland, OR by vocalist Jerry A. (aka Jerry Lang). The initial lineup consisted of Jerry A., Tom “Pig Champion” Roberts (guitar), Glen Estes (bass), and Dean Johnson (drums). Inspired by Black Flag and other early Southern California hardcore acts, they were further influenced by Discharge and Los Angeles's the Germs. Germs singer Darby Crash was a strong influence on singer Jerry A.—vocally, lyrically, and philosophically—was monumental, and Poison Idea followed the Germs’ extremist punk ethic.
PI’s classic debut, 1983's Pick Your King EP was a short, lo-fi blast of hardcore fury. The jacket featured two self-proclaimed kings, Jesus (front cover) and Elvis Presley (back cover).

Antisect were an English metal/thrash band, with a background in punk and strong involvement with the anarcho-punk movement. The tag 'crust is also often applied to them, but they never called themselves this and the genre did not exist during their time. They also constantly stated that they were not limited to either the category of punk, although that was a strong part of their background, or of anarcho-punk, although they were very involved with the bands and people involved in the scene that was called that by many, and they tended to state that they were a metal band with a message of freedom and peace. They were active mainly in the first half of the 1980s. They are notable for bringing together elements of punk and heavy metal a...
