Towa Carson

Towa Carson (born Birgit Carlsson on 31 March 1936 in Eskilstuna, Sweden) is a Swedish schlager singer. She debuted in 1954 and had the most success in the 1950s and 1960s, when she recorded many duets with Lasse Lönndahl. She participated in the Swedish song contest Melodifestivalen in 1967 with Du vet var jag finns (third place) and in 1968 with two songs, Alla har glömt, which took fourth place, and Vem frågar vinden, which took fifth.

In 2004, at the age of 68, she teamed up with fellow veteran Melodifestivalen participants Siw Malmkvist and Ann-Louise Hanson to enter the contest again. The trio, under the name Hanson, Carson & Malmkvist, gained media attention due to the average age of the ladies far exceeding 60. Their ...

Siw Malmkvist

Siw Malmkvist, born December 31, 1936 in Landskrona, Sweden, is a popular Swedish singer famous in Scandinavia and Germany. She competed in the Swedish Melodifestivalen many times, latest in 2004 together with Towa Carson and Ann-Louise Hanson, singing the song C'est la vie, which finished 10th. She represented Sweden at the international Eurovision Song Contest 1960 with Alla andra får varann and the former West Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 1969, with the song Primaballerina. Siw Malmkvist had a number one hit in West Germany 1964 with Liebeskummer lohnt sich nicht (meaning: Lovesickness Is Not Worthwhile).
