The core members of Shpongle are Simon Posford and Raja Ram from the United Kingdom, along with many collaborators and guest musicians. Ott is also credited on all albums.
Their sound is a mix of mainly eastern ethnic samples and western contemporary psychedelic synth music. Posford is responsible for the synth and studio work while Raja Ram contributes with flute arrangements. They are both responsible for the visionary input. According to one interview, they commonly visualize the music together before and during the creation process.
Shpongle's first tune, Vapour Rumours, was released on TIP Records' Infinite Excursions compilation in 1996. Their debut album, Are You Shpongled?, was released 1998 on Twisted Rec...
1200 Micrograms (sometimes credited as 1200 Mics) are a psychedelic trance act formed in Ibiza in 1999-. The members are Riktam and Bansi who are the duo also comprising G.M.S., and Raja Ram and Chicago. The band split up in late following ongoing disputes; Riktam was fed up writing all the music and splitting the money three ways, while Raja Ram and Chicago became irritated at Riktam and Bansi's unreliability in turning up for performances.

Michele Adamson is an ambient and psychedelic trance vocalist and songwriter who has worked with many famous artists in the genre, including Shpongle, Infected Mushroom, Violet Vision, Sub6, Ott, Younger Brother, and Astrix. Her most well-known works are Converting Vegetarians with Infected Mushroom and Tales of the Inexpressible with Shpongle. She is also responsible for the vocals on Alan Parsons' Return to Tunguska on the album A Valid Path.

1. Perplex, who is also known as Ronen Dahan, was born 1974 in Haifa, Israel. He grew up in small community near Tel Aviv. By the age of 14 he had started a small rock band, in which he played the guitar and was the lead singer. His main influences back then were Depeche Mode and other new wave artists who were all the rage at the time.
With 17 years of age, he went on his tour of Australia and Europe. When he got back to Israel. The first Techno had arrived from Northern Europe to which he felt attracted.
