Sonata Arctica (FI)

Sonata Arctica was formed in 1996 on the edge of the world, in the northern Finnish town of Kemi.

Originally formed as Tricky Beans, they released few demos and as they got the contract they had to change their name.
In 1999 the band recorded a new demo "FullMoon" in Tico Tico Studios located in their hometown, Kemi. At the time of recording the line-up consisted of: Tony (vocals/keys), Jani (guitars), Tommy (drums), and Janne (bass). This new demo was the first exploration for the band in heavy metal waters. The band's trademark sound of fast, melodic and keyboard oriented heavy metal with clear, high vocals was born. Sabaton is a symphonic power metal band from Falun, Sweden formed in 1999. The band's main lyrical themes are based on war and historical battles. Lyrical content drawn from World War I, World War II and other conflicts is prevalent and includes songs about battles and leaders on all sides of said conflicts. In April 2012, four members left the band and formed another, whilst vocalist Joakim Brodén and bassist Pär Sundström continued with new members.

Kreator (DE)

Kreator is a thrash metal band from Essen, Germany. They originally started under the name Metal Militia, later Tyrant and Tormentor, finally Kreator. Starting their career in 1982, they played Thrash Metal with Venom influences. Their style of music is similar to their compatriots Destruction and Sodom, the other two big Teutonic Thrash Metal bands from Germany. All three of these bands are often credited with helping create Death Metal.

Leaves' Eyes (NO)

Leaves’ Eyes is a symphonic metal band with folk metal elements from Ludwigsburg, Germany. Leaves’ Eyes currently consists of Elina Siirala (female vocals), Alexander Krull (male vocals, programming), Thorsten Bauer (guitars/Bass), Pete Streit (guitars), and Joris Nijenhuis (drums & percussion).

Leaves’ Eyes was formed in 2003 by Liv Kristine with her husband, Alexander Krull, and members of his band, Atrocity. The band combines atmospheric metal and classical elements. The lead female vocals are occasionally backed up by death growls from Alexander Krull.

Wintersun (FI)

Founded by ex-Ensiferum frontman Jari Mäenpää in Helsinki, Finland in 2004. Wintersun is a Finnish Metal band with an array of influences ranging from (but not limited to): Power Metal, Folk Metal, Melodic Death Metal and even Progressive Metal. Ultimately melodic death/power metal.
