There are two musical groups with the name The Kooks:

1. British indie rock band - formed in Brighton, England, United Kingdom in 2004. The band currently consists of Luke Pritchard (vocals, guitar), Hugh Harris (guitar), Peter Denton (bass) and Nick Millard (drums). Nick is currently filling in for Paul Garred due to a recent arm injury. They have released three studio albums; their 2006 debut Inside In/Inside Out peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and their 2008 follow up Konk reached number one. Foals (UK)

Foals are a rock band which formed in Oxford, England in 2005. The band consists of Yannis Philippakis (vocals, guitar), Jimmy Smith (guitar), Walter Gervers (bass), Edwin Congreave (keyboards) and Jack Bevan (drums). The band has released four albums: "Antidotes" (2008), "Total Life Forever" (2010), "Holy Fire" (2013) and "What Went Down" (2015).

The band was formed in 2005 by Philippakis and Bevan, both former members of math rock band The Edmund Fitzgerald, and Andrew Mears of Youthmovies. Mears left the band after their first single to focus on Youthmovies.

At the Gates

At the Gates is a melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden, and a major progenitor of the Gothenburg death metal sound. Initially active from 1990 to 1996, the band reformed in 2007 for a reunion tour.

At the Gates was formed in 1990 by former members of the pioneering death metal band Grotesque. They recorded a debut EP, Gardens of Grief, for the Dolores record label, and sold cassettes, vinyls, and XL t-shirts to promote the recording. The EP led seminal metal label Peaceville Records to sign the band, and they released their debut full-length album, The Red in the Sky Is Ours, in 1992, an album with an eclectic sound, featuring for instance neoclassical arrangements and even a string solo.

Dry the River (UK)

Dry the River were a folk rock band from Stratford, London, UK, formed in spring 2009. Frontman Peter Liddle decribes their sound as "folky gospel music played by a post-punk band". Currently, the band consists of Peter Liddle (vocals, guitar), Matthew Taylor (guitar, keys, vocals), Scott Miller (bass, percussion, vocals) and Jon Warren (drums, percussion). The original lineup also included Will Harvey (violin, viola, keys, mandolin); however, he left the band in early 2014.

Bob Hund

bob hund is a seven-piece rock band from Sweden. Swedish for "bob dog", their name was borrowed from a television cartoon character. Their music, hard to classify, is by some described as "a frantic celebration of the power of music to invigorate and give life."

The indie rock band started in autumn 1991 and the group as it is known today was formed within about half a year. The group consists of singer Thomas Öberg, guitarists Johnny Essing and Conny Nimmersjö, bassist Mats Hellquist, Jonas Jonasson on synths, and Mats Andersson on drums.
