Carcass (UK)

Carcass is a death metal/grindcore/melodic death metal/death n roll band formed by Napalm Death guitarist Bill Steer together with drummer Ken Owen in 1985 and is considered by many to have been one of the most influential and talented bands within the extreme metal scene.

Carcass was originally based in Liverpool. On their first demo, Sanjiv contributed vocals. In 1987, bassist and vocalist Jeffrey Walker, formerly of the Electro Hippies, joined them.

Napalm Death (UK)

Napalm Death is a grindcore/death metal band from Birmingham, England. The band was formed in the village of Meriden near Birmingham, England in 1981 by Nicholas Bullen and Miles Ratledge.

Although other groups had previously played fast and aggressive music, Napalm Death is credited with defining the Grindcore genre through its fusion of punk and metal musical structures, aggressive playing, fast tempos, and deep guttural vocals.

Obituary (US)

Obituary is one of the pioneering bands of the death metal genre. The band came from Tampa, Florida, and was founded as Executioner in 1985, and then changed their name to Xecutioner to avoid confusion with the other one. In 1988, shortly before the release of their first album "Slowly We Rot", they changed their name to Obituary. Obituary is considered an influential band in the Florida death metal movement that arose in the late 1980s. The 1990 release "Cause of Death" featured James Murphy on guitar (Cancer and Disincarnate) replacing Allen West for unknown reasons. This release has been described as a seminal album in the Death Metal genre. Vocalist John Tardy is recognized as one of the first vocalists to use an abnormally low gro...

A blend of thrash with some progressive rock thrown in (on Killing Technology), and lyrics leaning heavily on sci-fi imagery. Herod (CH)

Initially the brainchild of guitarist Pierre Carroz, the first idea of Herod came to life
during his stay in Malmø, Sweden, back in 2006. In Sweden, Pierre found little else
to do that to isolate himself in his empty studio apartment, and so he began putting
together dark and depressing riffs with his baritone guitar on an old 4-track recorder,
which he brought with him from Switzerland, inspired by the cold and desolate,
Swedish climate.

In 2011 back in Switzerland, Pierre then became acquainted with former Twisted-
drummer Fabien Vodoz and A Fine Day to Exit-singer David Glassey, and the three
would go on to form Herod and write the songs of, what would later become their
