Eric Bibb (b. 1951) is an American blues singer and guitarist, based in London, England, who has made his career largely in Europe.
Bibb was born on 16th August 1951 in New York into a musical family. His father, Leon Bibb, is a trained singer who sang in musical theatre and made a name for himself as part of the 1960s New York folk scene. His uncle was the world-famous jazz pianist and composer John Lewis, of the Modern Jazz Quartet. Family friends included Pete Seeger, Odetta, and actor/singer/activist Paul Robeson, Bibb'sgodfather.

At the age of 15 she was performing with her parents – singing and at first playing the violin and later the electric guitar. "People always wonder how a girl picked up the guitar. But being from a musical family – my mother is a bassist and my father a guitarist – I don't think that's a far stretch," ...
Big Band Splash is based in Stockholm, Sweden. They play classic soul/r&b/souljazz with a full big band horn section. Leader, arranger and producer is saxophonist Jakob Norgren. In 2010 they released the album "Another Apple" featuring John Németh, Greta Bondesson, Sven Zetterberg and Marino Valle.
Two albums were previously released under the name Jakob Norgren Big Band Splash (2005 & 2007). The music then was a mix of contemporary jazz, soul and even some electronica. From 2010 the name of the band is just Big Band Splash, and focus is on soul/r&b/souljazz. (The nujazz stuff now appears under the name The Emersons). Read more on Last.fm .
