Jozef Van Wissem (NL)

In 2013 composer/lutenist Jozef van Wissem won the Cannes Soundtrack Award for best score at the Cannes Film Festival for Only Lovers Left Alive, a vampire film by Jim Jarmusch. He is both an avant-garde composer and a baroque lutenist, and thus no stranger to dichotomy, according to the New York Times.

Van Wissem collaborates with Jim Jarmusch and Zola Jesus. He made three records with Jarmusch and played both in Europe and in United States as a duo. He does live scores to silent films, scored several award winning soundtracks and is also acting in film. Aaron Dilloway (US)

Aaron Dilloway is an experimental musician. He has been releasing and recording music since the age of 16. He is a former guitarist and tape manipulator for the noise rock band Wolf Eyes, which he left in 2005 to live most of that year in Kathmandu, Nepal. While his wife did her graduate work there, he roamed the streets recording every sound he could, many of which are used in his recent recordings and performances. Currently he runs the noise record label, record store and mailorder Hanson Records, which he began in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1994, but has been based in Oberlin, Ohio since February 2008. Heather Leigh

Heather Leigh Murray is a very active performer, playing and recording solo, as well as with Scorces, Charalambides, Taurpis Tula, Dream/Aktion Unit, Jandek etc. Her main instruments are pedal steel and voice. She is currently romantically involved with, as well as member in the same band (Taurpis Tula) as WIRE contributor David Keenan, who also owns and operates the influential record store/distro/label Volcanic Tongue. Puce Mary (DK)

Puce Mary is the solo project of Copenhagen-based experimental musician Frederikke Hoffmeier. Closely affiliated with the punk scene that grew out of the danish capital and spawned labels like Posh Isolation and bands like Iceage, Vår and Lust for Youth, Hoffmeier has chosen a somewhat different path.
As a solo project, Puce Mary is constantly evolving and never stays in the same place for very long. Where the early tapes and records on danish label Posh Isolation have been minimal with a dark edge, Hoffmeier has recently showcased her diversity through live performances and collaborations.
