The Egyptian Lover (US)

The Egyptian Lover started out as a D.J. in Lafayette, Louisiana then moved to Los Angeles and started promoting dance events with Unique Dreams Entertainment, which would later change its name in 1983 to Uncle Jamm's Army. Together, they would hold early hip-hop dance parties at the L.A. Sports Arena and in Torrance with over 10,000 people. The Egyptian Lover's first recording was in 1983 as a member of the The Radio Crew, and then later that year he contributed to "Dial-A-Freak" which was released by Uncle Jamm's Army. The Egyptian Lover released his debut solo single and club hit "Egypt, Egypt" the following year, in 1984. Acid Arab (FR)

Guido Minisky and Hervé Carvalho are Acid Arab. The basic idea behind the Parisian duo's project is to weld a loose network of Eastern influences—strings, percussion and Arabic melodies—to the framework of house and techno. In their own words, the project first started "as a concept, then a Facebook group, then a party, then (almost) a genre, then it was us."
In 2013 Versatile Records released the first Acid Arab EP, a various artists 12-inch that featured one track from Minisky and Carvalho (as Acid Arab) alongside productions from the likes of I:Cube and Crackboy, who remixed Omar Souleyman's "Shift Al Mani." France Jobin (b. 1958) is a sound / installation / artist, composer, and curator residing in Montreal, whose audio art, qualified as "sound-sculpture", reveals a minimalist approach to complex sound environments where analog and digital intersect. Her installations incorporate both musical and visual elements inspired by the architecture of physical spaces.
