Beardfish is a band from Gävle, Sweden that plays progressive rock. Their style resembles the progressive rock that was popular in the 1970s.

In 2001, Rikard Sjöblom and David Zackrisson founded Beardfish together with Petter Diamant on drums and Gabriel Olsson on bass. Drummer Petter Diamant subsequently left the band, and was replaced by Magnus Östgren in 2002; flautist and keyboardist Stefan Aronsson also joined.

Robert Hansen replaced Gabriel on bass, and Beardfish recorded their debut album Från en plats du ej kan se in Stefan's studio in 2003. Stefan left the band shortly thereafter. Magic Pie (NO)

...MAGIC PIE started to take shape during autumn 2001. The members came from a wide variety of musical background, each one previously playing in several bands and projects of different genre.

...Actually the band first started out playing cover-songs along with a couple of own songs. After fooling around with the covers for a while, suggestions were made to cut them out and completely go for own songs. This proved to be a major turnpoint, and really set the band into workmode..., intentions was to create a “progressive” sound texture in the spirit of the `70´s, and to blend musical tendencies from both back then and from today´s “progressive” scene.
