Zola Jesus is the stage name of Russian-American singer-songwriter Nika Roza Danilova (born 11 April 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona and raised in Merrill, Wisconsin, USA). Her music style combines electronic, industrial, classical, goth, and experimental rock influences.
Nika Roza Danilova was raised in Merrill, Wisconsin, on over 100 acres of forest. Danilova started singing early on, buying voice lesson tapes and opera sheet music at the age of 7; soon she began working with a vocal coach. It was not her parents' idea: "I begged them to do it. For some reason, I really wanted to sing opera even though I wasn't really exposed to it as a kid. I think my little baby toddler mind heard some opera song and then became fixated on how ...
Glasvegas are an alternative/shoegazing band which formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 2003, the band is composed of James Allan (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rab Allan (lead guitar), Paul Donoghue (bass guitar) and Jonna Löfgren (drums). Their music is influenced by artists such as Wall of Sound producer Phil Spector and other, more recent, bands which share that same aesthetic such as My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The band's line-up came together in early 2003, and later that year were seen for the first time by Scottish music industry mogul Alan McGee at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut club in Glasgow. Former Creation Records bo...

Doherty left The Libertines after continuously failing to honor his band's commitments, and because of the deteriorating relationship between him and Carl Barât; although the exact story behind this remains debatable.
Doherty's post-Libertines work has been varied. He has distributed three sets of demos on the internet, an assortment of tracks w...
