In this age of rapid music consumption, everyone wants to label music, as well as the bands performing it. But how do you label a band whose music has been called ‘jazz’, but is not – ‘rock’n’roll’ and ‘sixties psychedelia’, yet is both and neither? Instrumental music, performed solely on drums and Hammond organ; melodic yet monotonous, sometimes smooth and melancholic, sometimes exploding and intensely groovy?

Träd, Gräs och Stenar

Träd, Gräs och Stenar ("Trees, Grass and Stones") is a Swedish rock band formed in 1969. The group was one of the front acts in the progressive music scene in Sweden, although noticeably less political than their contemporary counterparts.

The band Pärson Sound was formed during the summer of 1967, then consisting of guitarist Bo Anders Persson, Thomas Tidholm on vocals, saxophone and flute, Arne Ericsson on cello, Urban Yman on violin, Torbjörn Abelli on bass and Thomas Mera Gartz on drums. This constellation, which were playing an experimental brand of psychedelic rock never released any official records, although a collection of recordings from 1967 to 1968 were released as the double CD Pärson Sound in 2001.
