Hypnotic, psychedelic and heavy jazz from the Swedish musicians Mats Gustafsson (The Thing) on saxophones and Fender Rhodes; Johan Berthling (Tape) on bass, electric guitar and Hammond organ; and Andreas Werliin (Wildbirds & Peacedrums) on drums. The trio also team up with a host of other Scandinavian jazz musicians under the name Fire! Orchestra.

Nicolai Dunger

Nicolai Dunger is a singer and acoustic songwriter from Piteå in Sweden. He has released eleven EPs and albums, singing primarily in English, and collaborated notably with Will Oldham, Mercury Rev, the Esbjörn Svensson jazz trio and Ebbot Lundberg.


A former football player, Nicolai was signed by the Telegram label of Warner records, releasing two albums that did not sell enough copies to enable him to give up his part-time job as a gardener.

Dan Berglund

1. Dan Berglund is an Swedish folk singer and guitarist, born in Helsinki, Finland in 1954. In the 70's he was affiliated with the Swedish Marxist-Leninist communist party (KPML(r)), but in '79 he turned his back on the party. He is most known for his album "En järnarbetares visor", released in 1975. He is still somewhat active and was again popularized when the Swedish left-wing punk/rock band EAK had at least one cover of his songs on each of their releases from the mid-90's to the last in 2000. Mats Gustafsson

Mats Gustafsson (born 1964 in Umeå) is a Swedish saxophone player and a stalwart on the Scandinavian free jazz scene.

He first came to the attention of lovers of improvised music as part of a duo with Christian Munthe (started in 1986) and the band Gush (started in 1988). He has later played widely with musicians such as Peter Brötzmann, Joe McPhee, Paul Lovens, Barry Guy and Derek Bailey.

Since the early 1990s, Mats Gustafsson has been a regular visitor to the U.S., forming a particular affinity with Chicago musicians such as Hamid Drake, Michael Zerang and Ken Vandermark and recording for the city's OkkaDisk label.
